It has been what seemed like a long and exausting journey, but we have made it. On January 7, 2010, we held our certification vote to go union. We then began to work on building our chapter and put together our bargaining team and our Cat team. After several long meetings with the bargaining/cat teams, we finally had our first proposal and met with First Student on June 18, 2010. From there, we had 6 or 7 more bargaining sessions which led to our Tentative Agreement.
January 4, 2011, we held our ratification vote. We have 36 members out of 40 drivers, and 35 out of those 36 members voted in the contract 22-13.
I am so proud of all our members who stepped up to vote and let their voices be heard. I am also proud of all those who helped make this contract come to life. Thank you.
